Question

My ProStar with the N13 is driving me crazy. It has this 'stutter' or jerking motion when I'm maintaining speed at about 1200 RPM. If I floor it, it goes away. The code I keep getting is for EGR flow abnormal rate of change.

I've already had the EGR valve replaced twice in the last year. It seems to fix it for a month, then the stutter comes back. I'm starting to think it's not the valve, but something else in the EGR loop that's causing the valve to hunt for position.

✅ Confirmed fix: On the N13, the EGR Delta P (differential pressure) sensor ports get clogged with carbon frequently. If the sensor can't accurately see the pressure drop across the orifice, it oscillates the valve trying to find the right flow rate, causing that jerking. I cleaned the sensor ports with a small drill bit (by hand) and replaced the sensor. The stutter vanished.

Check the EGR cooler for leaks. If coolant is leaking into the exhaust stream, it mixes with soot and creates a 'paste' that gums up the EGR valve even if it's brand new. Pressure test the cooling system and look for white residue in the EGR piping.
