Bendix EC-60 ABS Light On - Fault Code 25 Troubleshooting

Question

Running a 2018 Peterbilt 579 and my ABS light is staying on solid. Using the blink code method, I'm pulling a Code 25 which indicates an issue with the PMV on the left steer axle. I can't hear the valve clicking during the self-test when I key on.

Determined the issue was a failed internal solenoid in the PMV. I replaced the Left Front Modulator Valve with a genuine Bendix M-32QR (part number K022105). After installing the new valve and clearing the codes with Bendix ACom software, the self-test passed and the light stayed off. Total cost for the part was about $210 and took 45 minutes to swap out.

Before replacing the valve, check the ground circuit back to the ECU. If the ECU doesn't see a load on that circuit during the power-up sequence, it will throw that code immediately. Make sure the pins aren't backed out of the connector shell.

Check the chassis harness leading from the frame rail down to the steer axle. Those wires flex every time you turn the wheel and often break internally right near the weather pack connector. Peel back the loom and look for green crusties or broken copper.

Code 25 is specifically for the Left Front Pressure Modulator Valve (PMV). You should check the resistance across the solenoid pins at the valve; you are looking for roughly 4 to 9 ohms. If it's open or shorted, the valve is toast.
