2018 RAM 2500 Windshield Washer Not Spraying - Code B142C

Question

My front windshield washers suddenly stopped working on my RAM. I can hear the pump clicking but no fluid comes out, and the wipers swipe like normal when I push the button. Scanned the BCM and found code B142C indicating a control circuit high condition.

The issue was a localized internal short in the washer pump motor (Part #68269842AA). I confirmed this by measuring the resistance, which was almost zero ohms, causing the 'Circuit High' code in the BCM. I replaced the pump which costs about $45 and cleaned the connector pins with electronics cleaner. The system now sprays perfectly and the code cleared immediately after cycling the ignition.

If the pump is clicking, the BCM is sending the signal, but the internal motor windings might be partially shorted. Use a multimeter to check the resistance across the pump terminals before you start stripping the harness.

B142C typically means the Body Control Module is seeing higher voltage than expected on the washer pump return line. Check the wiring harness near the fluid reservoir for any signs of rodent damage or chafing against the frame.

Have you tried unplugging the pump and checking for green crusties in the connector? These connectors are low to the ground and get hit with road salt, which causes high resistance and triggers that specific code.
