2016 Ram 2500 - P208E Reductant Injection Valve Stuck Clogged - No Regen

Question

Running into a wall with my 2016 Cummins. I've got the 'Service DEF System' message on the EVIC and it's threatening a 5MPH limp mode in 50 miles. Pulled P208E which says the injector is stuck closed. I can hear the pump prime but the SCR efficiency is tanking.

I tried cleaning the tip of the DEF injector with distilled water because it had some crystal buildup, but it didn't clear the code after a forced regen attempt. The NOx sensors are reading way out of spec compared to each other, so I know it's not dosing correctly. Is it possible the pump is failing even if I hear it?

✅ Confirmed fix: Replaced the DEF Injector (Dosing Valve). Even after cleaning the exterior, the internal solenoid had failed. After swapping the unit and performing a 'DEF Reductant System Reset' and an 'SCR Crystallization Clear' through WiTech, the SCR efficiency returned to 98% and the P208E never returned.

Check your DEF pump pressure in the data stream. If you aren't hitting at least 130 PSI, the injector won't atomize well. Also, pull the line and check for flow during a commanded test. These pumps have an internal filter that isn't supposed to be serviceable but often gets gunked up with crystallized urea.
