2015 Lexus LX570 P2047 Reductant Injection Valve Circuit Open

Question

I'm getting a persistent P2047 code on my LX570 and the dash is warning me about a limited number of starts remaining. I haven't noticed any leaks under the vehicle, but the light comes back on immediately after clearing it with my scan tool. I am worried about the DEF system locking the ECU out if I keep driving.

The issue was a broken wire about 6 inches up from the DEF injector plug. The wire had become brittle and snapped inside the insulation due to vibration. I stripped the wires back, soldered a new pigtail section (Part #82998-12440), and sealed it with heat shrink. After clearing the codes and performing the 'Reductant Consumption Test' via Techstream, the countdown reset and the fault stayed off.

Check the wiring harness near the rear axle. Road debris often hits the loom where it connects to the reductant pump assembly, which can cause an open circuit error like P2047.

You need to measure the resistance of the injection valve itself. Unplug the connector and check across the two pins on the injector side; if it's infinite ohms, the internal solenoid has failed.

Check the Reductant Control Module (RCM) connector for corrosion. These modules are somewhat exposed and if moisture gets into the pins, it will trigger circuit codes even if the injector is good.
