2015 Freightliner Cascadia DD15 - No Start, No Crank, Possible MCM Issue

Question

Got a 2015 Cascadia that won't turn over. When I cycle the key, the dash goes through its sweep and everything looks normal, but when I hit the start position, absolutely nothing happens. No click from the solenoid, no dimming of lights. I'm seeing a 'No Data' message on the dash display where the odometer usually is.

I've checked the batteries and they are sitting at 12.6V. Connections at the starter are tight and clean. I suspect it's a communication issue because my scan tool won't even talk to the Motor Control Module (MCM), but it will talk to the Transmission and ABS modules. Trying to figure out if I have a dead MCM or just a wiring harness rub-through which these trucks are famous for.

✅ Confirmed fix: Found the 21-pin connector on the MCM (located on the left side of the engine) had several pins rotted out due to internal coolant migration through the wiring harness from a leaking Delta-P sensor. Replaced the engine wiring harness and the MCM, and the truck fired right up. Always check those connectors for green corrosion or wetness.

Check the power distribution box on the firewall. The mega-fuses can sometimes develop hairline cracks that only fail under load. Also, check the ground strap between the engine block and the frame rail; if that's corroded, you'll lose the high-amp path for the starter and the MCM logic ground might float.

Have you checked the CPC (Common Powertrain Controller) under the dash on the passenger side? If the CPC is failing, it won't send the wake-up signal to the MCM over the CAN link. Look for any signs of melted plastic or a burnt smell near the module connectors.
