Question

Driving a 2020 International LT with about 450k miles. I'm getting a frequent 'High Crankcase Pressure' alarm on the dash, especially when pulling a grade. I've already replaced the crankcase filter element (the one on the driver side) twice in the last month.

I'm starting to see oil weeping from the oil pan gasket and the front seal. I'm terrified it's blow-by from a cracked liner. Any other things to check before I bring it in for an in-frame?

✅ Confirmed fix: Check the oil drain back line from the crankcase breather housing. Mine was 100% plugged with sludge, preventing the oil from draining back to the pan, which caused the filter to saturate immediately and block the vent. Cleaned the line and replaced the housing gasket. Pressure dropped back to 1.5 inches of water.

Perform a blow-by test with a manometer. If you are over 10-12 inches of water, you likely have a piston ring or liner issue. Check if you're making oil (fuel dilution) as well.
