2019 Subaru Outback - Parasitic Battery Drain - Dead every morning

Question

I'm on my third battery in 2 years with this Outback. If I don't drive it for a single day, I have to jump-start it. I've taken it to the dealer and they say they 'can't replicate the issue' because they just test the battery and alternator, which always pass.

I've made sure all the interior lights are off and I'm not leaving anything plugged into the 12V outlets. There are no aftermarket alarms or remote starts on this car. Is there a known module that stays awake on these?

Check the hatch latch sensor. Sometimes the rear gate doesn't fully signal 'closed' to the Body Control Module even if it's latched, keeping the CAN-bus awake all night. Try taping the sensor down to see if the drain stops.

✅ Confirmed fix: The DCM (Data Communication Module) for the Starlink system was failing to go into sleep mode, drawing about 150mA constantly. This is a very common issue on 2017-2020 Subarus. I pulled the DCM fuse as a temporary test and the drain dropped to 15mA. The permanent fix was a firmware update/replacement of the DCM unit by the dealer under a specific service campaign.
