2014 Chevrolet Silverado - Service Stabilitrak - P0507 High Idle

Question

Starting my truck this morning, the 'Service Stabilitrak' and 'Service Traction Control' messages came on. The truck is idling high (around 1100 RPM) and feels like it wants to surge forward when I'm at a stop.

I don't understand why a traction control light would cause the engine to idle high. I scanned it and got P0507 for Idle Control System RPM Higher Than Expected. I've cleaned the throttle body but it didn't change anything. Has anyone seen this combo before?

✅ Confirmed fix: You have a vacuum leak, likely from a cracked PCV hose or the intake manifold gaskets. The 'Service Stabilitrak' light is a secondary symptom; when the PCM can't manage engine torque due to a vacuum leak (P0507), it disables traction control because it can't accurately limit power. Look at the plastic PCV tube running from the valve cover to the intake—they often crack underneath where you can't see it.

Check your battery voltage and ground cables. GM trucks of this vintage have terrible ground straps on the frame and engine block. When the voltage drops or gets 'dirty' signals, the EBCM and PCM lose communication, causing random Stabilitrak lights and odd idle behavior.
