2018 Freightliner Cascadia - Code 1995 DPF Regen Incomplete

Question

My DD15 is throwing code 1995 and won't finish a parked regen. It starts the process and gets up to temp, but then it just kicks out after about 15 minutes without completing the burn. I am seeing some white smoke during the attempt and the dash keeps telling me to stay parked.

The issue was a failed Hydrocarbon Doser Valve (A0004900500) that was leaking internally and not holding the required 110-120 PSI to atomize fuel correctly. I replaced the dosing valve assembly and the fuel line leading to the exhaust manifold. After a forced regen and a Doc/DPF reset in the software, the truck completed a full clean cycle and the 1995 code stayed inactive. Total part cost was about $650.

You need to run a quantity test on the fuel doser valve using DiagnosticLink. If it isnt spraying at least 110ml in 60 seconds, your dosing valve is tired or the pump isn't providing enough line pressure.

I had this exact issue and it ended up being a cracked ceramic honeycomb inside the DPF causing a backpressure fluctuation. Take the filters off and look for soot tracking on the outlet side.

Check your Hydrocarbon Doser (7th injector) hard line for clogs. Even if the tip is clean, the line often carbons up right where it enters the manifold, causing low flow that the ECU detects as a failure to maintain regen temps.
